Pairing: Ryuhou and Kazuma
Fandom: s-CRY-ed
Theme: #19, Red
Red. Everything about Kazuma was red. Auburn-red hair flaring brighter with his Alter power. Red and gold armor encasing his arm or entire body. Maroon-red shirt, now tattered and torn by too-numerous battles, barely hanging on the man's equally-battered body. Red-hot temper exploding at the smallest provocation.
Ryuhou couldn't think about Kazuma without picturing the color. The other man--his enemy, rival, companion, friend, lover--practically radiated a red aura. Everything about Kazuma both contrasted and complemented Ryuhou, who was all cool blues, silver-purple Alter, sea-green hair, cold heart. Perhaps this was one reason why they'd clashed so violently and loved so deeply. Guess opposites can attract as well as repel, Ryuhou mused, watching his redheaded partner approach the car during a rare trip into town for supplies. Fire and ice...
"What're you staring at?" Kazuma grumbled once he moved within earshot.
Ryuhou shrugged and stepped forward, reaching out as if to take Kazuma's bag. "Nothing really, just..." Knowing he was risking bodily injury, he grabbed Kazuma's arm and pulled him close. Before the other man could protest, Ryuhou dipped his head and captured Kazuma's lips in a quick, passionate kiss.
Kazuma relaxed against Ryuhou for a moment, then stiffened and shoved the taller man away. "What the fuck was that?!" he yelled, his face flushed. He swung his fist at Ryuhou's face, but the older boy dodged easily. "We're out in public, dammit!"
"I know," Ryuhou replied, with the barest hint of a smirk twitching at the corners of his mouth. "I just wanted to see if I could get your face to turn red too." Nonchalantly, he turned and climbed into the driver's seat of the jeep. "Looks like it worked."
Kazuma stood stunned for a moment, then grumbled and got in the passenger's side, still blushing furiously. "Baka."
